AMF Development (AMFD) has decided to target their newest real estate developments toward the age group of 20 to 34 years old, otherwise known as “Generation Y,” or “Millennials.” The Generation Y demographic currently makes up a little over 30 percent of the nation’s population. AMFD will offer Southern California residents micro one-bedroom structural designs that target this specific demographic in terms of amenities and economic factors.
The development units are set to open their doors in Glendale, California as part of the brand new 208 unit Elevé Lofts & Skydeck. The Eleve development community is the first of a number of Young Urban Community housing projects AMFD plans to construct in the greater Southern California area. The development company was inspired to construct the units based on a survey they commissioned which resulted in the finding that over 62 percent of the Generation Y demographic prefers to pay more and live alone in a studio apartment rather than share a larger space with a roommate.
AMFD’s units will be offering kitchens equipped with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Additionally, the micro one-bedroom units will contain a living room, bath, closet and bedroom. Since location is everything, the development will be centrally located within a busy city neighborhood full of amenities for every type of resident.
Always thinking ahead, AMFD has also allotted for the units to be able to be expanded to larger two bedroom units if the need arises. The development’s buildings have been constructed in a way that expansion will be quick and efficient if current households begin to expand.
