How to find a Real Estate Agent
If you are considering buying or selling a home and don’t have a real estate broker, where should you start? As someone who works almost a 100% relational business, my recommendation would be to start with speaking to your friends and family members who have bought or sold a home. Ask those people if they have a Real Estate Agent that they trust that they could refer you to. I would also ask those people why they like them, what were their strongest attributes. A referral from someone you know is always the best place to start when searching for the perfect REALTOR.
If you don’t have someone you trust to help refer you a Real Estate Agent, then I would suggest going online and doing a search and reading reviews of agents in that area and see what others are saying about them. Even you receive a referral, I would still do a google search and read the reviews as this can give you a good idea of what to expect when buying or selling a home with that REALTOR.
Lastly, if you are buying or selling a home in an area where you don’t know anyone, talk to your current REALTOR and see if they can refer you to someone or contact me directly and I’d be happy to do the research to find you someone who works a similar business as my own. I have an advantage in this area as I network with top real estate agents all over the country and maintain relationships with these agents so I’d be happy to make that connection.
Should you interview more than 1 Real Estate Agent?
I would say that it’s always in your best interest to interview more than 1 person just to have something to compare the other real estate agent to. It can never hurt to speak to multiple people as you could pick up things from one Realtor that the other Realtor never mentioned. In addition, you want to make sure you are working with a REALTOR that communicates the way you want to communicate and that your personalities match, otherwise it can be tough to hash through certain items if the transaction gets difficult in anyway.
If you are looking for a Real Estate Agent out of state and don’t have any idea where to start, please contact me directly and I will be happy to do the research for you to make sure that you are doing business with a Professional Real Estate Agent.
