Realtor Commission for buyer – who typically pays realtor fees?
The seller of the home is typically responsible for the commission to both the listing and selling agents. Initially when a listing agent sits down with the Seller, they decide the total commission that will be paid to the listing broker. They also decide how much of that commission goes to the listing agent as well as the buyer’s agent.
Does buyer pay realtor commission?
The buyer is generally not responsible for their Realtors commission as it’s paid by the Listing Broker and the Seller but as commission pressure has changed the real estate industry over the last few years, we have seen more and more reductions on the buyers agent commission. with that said, I have seen some Buyers Agent start going to their buyers asking them to pay part of the real estate commission because the Seller side isn’t compensating them fairly but generally the real estate commission is paid by the Seller.
